New Moto G7 Plus live images show off waterdrop display, dual cameras

New hands-on images of the Moto G7 Plus once again reveal waterdrop display, curved glass back design and dual cameras. The Moto G7 series is set to go official on February 7.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Moto G7 Plus and G7 will come with waterdrop displays
  • The Moto G7 Plus is expected to come with a 6.22-inch FHD+ screen
  • The European price of the Moto G7 Plus is said to be around EUR 360 (approx Rs 29,000)
Motorola is about a week away from announcing the Moto G7 series in Brazil. The company will be holding an event on February 7 where it is expected to announce the Moto G7, G7 Plus, G7 Play and G7 Power. And much like any anticipated smartphone, pretty much everything as been revealed about the Moto G7 series prior to launch thanks to a bunch of leaks on the internet. We have a pretty good idea of what all four phones will look like, but if you were still wondering, a new report this week once again shows of the Moto G7 Plus in live images.
The hands-on images posted by 91Mobiles show off the Moto G7 Plus from the front and back, all but confirming the new waterdrop display and dual rear camera system. The Moto G7 and G7 Plus are expected to come with a droplet-style notch while the Moto G7 Play and G7 Power will sport wide, iPhone X-like notches. Either way, all four phones are set to bring more screen real estate and thinner bezels than before.
In terms of design, the Moto G7 and G7 Plus are likely to be identical except in size. The photos reveal a glass back panel which curves on either sides and offers a circular camera module that will house two sensors as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the Moto batwing logo. This is the same look that is expected for the Moto G7 as well. Meanwhile, the Moto G7 Play and G7 Power are set to come with a circular camera module as well, but one that will house only a single camera sensor.
Recently, Motorola's Brazil website pretty much leaked out the official specs of all the Moto G7 phones. The G7 Plus will sport a 6.24-inch display with a FHD+ resolution. A Snapdragon 636 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM is also expected. The phone will be offered with up to 64GB of internal storage. The Moto G7 Plus is said to come with a 16MP + 5MP dual camera system and an 8MP front-facing camera. The Moto G7 Plus will also get face unlock and a 3,000mAh battery, which sounds unlikely considering it would be a downgrade from the Moto G6 Plus which offers a 3,200mAh battery.
Earlier this week, tipster Ishan Agarwal leaked the European pricing of the Moto G7 series, claiming that the G7 Play will be the cheapest model starting at EUR 149 (approximately Rs 12,000) while the G7 Power will be selling for EUR 207 (approximately Rs 17,000). The Moto G7 and G7 Plus are said to cost EUR 300 (approximately Rs 24,000) and EUR 360 (approximately Rs 29,000), respectively. These prices do sound steep compared to the Moto G6 series last year, but you can expect the India pricing to be a lot more competitive.
