Leak: Android Q to come with a new anti-consumer freedom feature The Android Q leaked source code has revealed that carriers will be getting more control over locked devices. HIGHLIGHTS Android Q has been found to designate a list of "allowed" and "excluded" carriers. Dual SIM models will require chosen carrier SIM in the primary slot to unlock secondary SIM slot. This could make it difficult for consumers to unlock the device and switch to a different network. While the concept of carrier-locked phones hasn't made it India successfully, western markets still have to deal with carrier-locked smartphones from the popular operators.
